About the event
Join Jennifer Herron Underwood, Realtor® and Life Transition Specialist, for a practical and thoughtful conversation about simplifying your home without feeling like you have to get rid of everything you love.
During Letting Go Without Guilt, we’ll explore two popular approaches to decluttering:
Swedish Death Cleaning — despite its unusual name, it’s about thoughtfully simplifying your belongings over time and making decisions now so they don’t eventually become someone else’s responsibility.
Marie Kondo’s KonMari Method — a different approach that encourages us to consider which belongings still have meaning and deserve a place in our lives.
We’ll compare these philosophies and talk about how you can borrow ideas from each to create an approach that works for you.
We’ll also discuss sentimental belongings, family heirlooms, collections, what your adult children may—or may not—want, and practical options for selling, donating, gifting or letting go.
